Goals for the next few months

Yoga - 3 times per week. I have a bad habit of skipping if I’m stressed or busy at work, but that’s when I need it the most!

Lifting - 2 times per week. But I have to do a real warmup beforehand. I have a tendency to still be a bit cold when I start upping the weight, and it’s only luck that I haven’t injured myself yet…

Walking - I walk my dog most mornings, but it tends to be quick because I’m always running late. I want to shoot for much longer walks 3+ times per week, or at least walking him again in the evening if I have to shortchange the morning walk.

Food - more veggies, mostly. I tend to do one veggie dish for dinner that amounts to half a bunch of kale or half a head of broccoli. I’d like to increase that to 2 veggie dishes. I’m also going to keep doing the big lunch salad 3 days per week.

Other stuff - I’ve started filtering my water at home, and I think I’m doing a somewhat better job of staying hydrated. I’ve once again stopped using antiperspirant… When I tried this a few years ago it ended in smelly failure, but I’m feeling more motivated this time around. I’ve bought some natural deodorant as backup in case the BO starts to get pretty bad… And I’m meeting with my doc tomorrow, I had some blood drawn to check for any potential nutrient deficiencies, and optimizing my various vitamin/mineral levels will be the name of the game for the next few months.

Yesterday’s workout: deadlift 3 x 5 x 95 lbs (my first deadlifts in almost a year?) 3 x 5 jumping pullups.

I've been perpetually injured and tired and have finally admitted that I need to concentrate on overall health and wellness. I'm focusing big time on food quality, posture/alignment, and stress/sleep management.

I danced ballet growing up, then got big into ultimate frisbee in college and became a gym rat. I'm currently devoting my time to lots of yoga, long walks with my dog, and eating good quality unprocessed foods.
